Palayu (Bamar)


Name:  Palayu

Classification:  Duct flute

Description:  A node of bamboo with both side opens.  The wide hole near the blowing end is covered by a thin piece of material, usually a small strip of film negative bounded by a rubber band to the flute.  There are seven holes on top and one hold underneath.  The palayu comes in varying sizes and materials such as pvc.
